Home to one of the oldest English markets in the country, the Walworth Road is about to undergo a massive 'regeneration programme' which threatens to wipe out whatever remains of the traditional way of life in the area. The aims in the project are to capture the idiosyncratic character of the place: its disappearing customs, the vernacular, the elderly with their stories and their memories, and to explore notions of time, loss and identity.
